Soldier Markers

It does not occur often, however when new soldier markers are placed on the battlefield we’ll feature them in this section of our website. The last time a soldier marker was placed on the field was in 1996 for an unknown. His remains were discovered in the area of Reno’s retreat on the west side of the river. See photos 6 and 6a at Custer’s Last Stand.

We begin this new section of our site with markers for three Arikara scouts and Corporal John Foley. The markers were placed on the field June 11, 2007. Learn more and view photos via the navigation buttons at right.
