The Parade To The DedicationThe dedication began with a parade of all the riders from Last Stand Hill, led by the lone 7th Cavalry horse. It was a beautiful site. The riders consisted of members of all the tribes present during the battle, 7th Cavalry and Buffalo Soldiers. Flags were waving in the light breeze, horses neighed and people stared in wonder. They stopped at the foot of the ceremony tent and the Crow women singers began to sing. Then, Chief Park Historian John Doerner played taps over a silent crowd of 4,000+ people.
